From the nurse’s office:
All freshmen must provide the health office with their ninth-grade physical examination and record of vaccinations before October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. Additionally, all seniors must provide the health office a copy of their meningococcal vaccine record before October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. These two requirements are state mandated. Please stop by the nurse’s office if you have any questions.
The Homecoming dance is Saturday, September 28. Tickets ($25 each) will be on sale online at the OLCHS Web Store the week before the dance, September 23-27.
If you plan to bring a non-OLCHS guest, you need to return a signed Guest Request Form to the Deans' Office by Thursday, September 19. Blanks forms are available in the Media Center, outside the Deans' Office & on the school website. See Mrs. Sidlow, if you have questions.
A sample homecoming ballot will be posted outside Office 126 on Tuesday. Nominated students are encouraged to check it to ensure their information is correct. If there are any issues, please contact Mrs. Sidlow by 3:30pm on Tuesday, September 17.
Summer isn’t over yet! During all lunch periods on Tuesday September 24th you can buy a SNOW CONE! The Kona snow cone truck will be visiting as a fundraiser to help support the Music Department’s Spring trip to Disney! The Klassic is $4, the King is $5, the Color Changing Cup is $6 and the Kowabunga is $6. Get your frozen treat in the last days of the summer heat!
Hello Spartans! Yesterday marked the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, is a time to recognize and honor the contributions, culture, and history of Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States. This month gives us the opportunity to reflect on the impact and influence of Hispanic cultures in shaping our nation.
The World Language Department will be offering an array of activities during Spartan Plus. We'll be celebrating with music, dance, traditional games, and our cafeteria will be serving delicious dishes from various Hispanic countries. Join us in honoring this rich heritage throughout the month!
Here's a Fun fact: Yesterday, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua celebrated their independence, today, Mexico and Chile on Wednesday, September 18th! Felicidades to all of you who are/will be celebrating this month. Viva la raza!
Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2024-25 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123. If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Creative Writing Club - Creative Writing’s next meeting will be this Tuesday, September 17th at 3:00pm. We will be discussing homecoming window painting and parade, and our upcoming contest. Contact Mrs. Madsen or Mrs. Razik with any questions.
FSCAB - FSCAB's next meeting will be this Wednesday, September 18th at 3:00pm. We will be making homecoming parade posters, discussing club t-shirts, and signing up for homecoming week activities. Contact Ms. Sears or Mrs. Madsen with any questions.

Girls Flag Football - Are you ready? Homecoming 2024 Girls Flag Football will be held on Tuesday, September 24th. If you are interested in playing, please see Coach Vanderwarren in Room 123 to pick up a participation/liability form. Forms are due Wednesday, September 18th. A brief informational meeting will also be held on Wednesday, September 18th at 3pm in room 119. If you do not turn in a form with payment or attend the informational meeting, you will not be eligible to play. Go Spartans!
