ORNELAS-RAMOS OUTPLAYS OPPOSITION FOR OAK LAWN GIRLS SOCCER

Looks can be deceiving. When teams see Jaretzy Ornelas-Ramos smiling at them across the soccer field, they may not be intimidated. However, once the game begins and her aggressive style locks down opposing scoring threats, it comes as a real surprise.

The standout midfielder for the Oak Lawn Community High School girls soccer team uses this to her advantage. The result was the best season of her career for the Spartans. The two-sport athlete, who also wrestles, excelled all season.

“Jaretzy, or ‘J’ as we know her, is one of our hardest working players,” head coach John Faro said. “She just finished her third year on varsity, and it has been her best season yet. J plays a defensive midfield position for us, and it suits her well as she is aggressive, physical, and technically sound with a ball at her feet. It is often her job to mark the opposing team’s scoring threats, and she does it wonderfully.

“She always has a smile on her face and always give 100-percent at training sessions and in games. We

look forward to seeing J continue to grow and have a fantastic senior year.”

Other teams shouldn’t be comfortable when seeing that smile because Ornelas-Ramos is out to win the battle for the Spartans.
