Spring Sports Tryout and Registration Information

Spring Sports Tryout Information and Procedures

 

Oak Lawn Community High School Athletics is excited to begin the spring athletic season for the 2025-2026 school year! Please take note of the information below which includes tryout dates/times/locations and procedures for your specific sport.

 

It is extremely important that all athletes have a current physical on file with the athletic office and have registered online prior to the day of the tryout (see information below). Students that report to tryouts without registration or current physical on file will be sent home. 

 

SPORT SPECIFIC TRYOUT INFORMATION:

Students should report to the following locations for check-in 15 minutes prior to the activity start time:

 

Girls Track & Field:

Location: Season has already started but still taking new members. Practices are Monday – Friday after school - 2nd Floor outside Room 213 or outside on the track (weather permitting). Students should be prepared to practice inside and outside.

Boys Track & Field:

Location: Season has already started but still taking new members. Practices are Monday – Friday after school - 2nd Floor outside Room 286 or outside on the track (weather permitting). Students should be prepared to practice inside and outside.

Softball

Tryouts will consist of two days of player evaluations.

Equipment Needed:

  • Bring all equipment needed to show your skills (gloves, bat, etc.)
  • If you are a catcher and don’t have equipment, we will provide equipment.
  • We will also provide bats and helmets if needed.
  • Have clothing to be outside (long sleeves, pants, spikes, etc.) and inside.

Location: If weather permits, tryouts will be held at the Spartan Athletic Complex on 2/23 and 2/24 from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Meet by Gym 101 after school for transportation. If tryouts are held indoors (Gym 101), the below schedule will be followed: 

  • Monday, 2/23: Infielders - 3:15pm-4:15pm / Outfielders - 4:15pm-5:15pm / Pitchers/Catchers - 5:15pm-6:15pm
  • Tuesday, 2/24: All Players - 3:30pm-5:30pm

Girls Badminton:

March 2nd - Freshman & Sophomores 12:00pm-2:00pm / Juniors & Seniors 10:00am-12:00pm

March 3rd - Freshman & Sophomores 3:15pm-5:15pm / Juniors & Seniors 5:15pm-7:15pm

March 4th - Freshman & Sophomores 3:15pm-4:30pm / Juniors & Seniors 4:30pm-6:00pm

Baseball:

Varsity: 3/2 – 12:00pm-1:00pm (Conditioning) & 5pm-7pm (Tryout)

JV (Sophomores): 3/2 – 1:00pm-3:00pm & 3/3 – 3:00pm-5:00pm

F/S (Freshman): 3/2 – 3:00pm-5:00pm & 3/3 – 5:00pm-7:00pm 

Location: Depending on weather: SWH Baseball Field and/or Auditorium Gym

Girls Soccer:

All Levels: Monday, Mar. 2nd – Wednesday, Mar. 4th from 3:30pm-6:00pm

Location: Depending on weather: Napleton Field or indoors

All athletes should have shin guards, cleats, gym shoes, and proper dress for indoor and outdoor.

Boys Tennis:

All Levels: Monday, Mar. 2nd from 12:00pm-2:00pm & Tuesday, Mar. 3rd from 3:30pm-5:30pm at the campus tennis courts.

Boys Volleyball:

Monday, Mar. 9th & Tuesday, Mar. 10th - Freshman & Sophomores from 3:30pm-5:30pm / Varsity from 5:00pm-7:00pm

The following will also need to be completed prior to check-in for tryouts.

  • Athletes must have a current physical on file with the athletic office (dated within the last 13 months) prior to the day of the tryout. Upon check-in, students will be checked for a valid physical. If they do not have a valid physical on file, they will be sent home. Physical forms can be downloaded at this link or from https://schools.snap.app/OakLawnCommunityHS/ under the “Resources” section. Updated physical forms can be hand delivered to the athletic office or emailed to our athletic office staff.
  • Parents must register their athlete online for the sport. Registration is available on our athletic web site https://schools.snap.app/OakLawnCommunityHS/ under the “Registration” tab at the top of the website, and also at https://manage.snap.app/register/oaklawncommunityhs. Athletes will be checked for completed registration at check-in. If a parent has not registered the athlete prior to the day of the tryout, they will be sent home.

 

Additional tryout information:

Athletes need to bring their own water bottle, shoes, towels, and other personal equipment.
