Good morning Spartans! The NHS “Share Your Soles” shoe drive is back! Last year our school community collected over 400 pairs of shoes! NHS is collecting clean, gently used, or new shoes from now until March 18th. In many parts of the world families live without this necessity. The Share Your Soles organization ships the shoes we collect to the most impoverished places around the globe and/or disaster relief areas within the United States. Please put pairs of shoes (No plastic bags needed this year) into the bins outside the main office, student cafe or room 204 by THIS Wednesday March 18. We appreciate your support!
The Boys Track & Field Team competed at the Argo Indoor Invite on Saturday. Varsity took 5th place and JV took 2nd place out of 9 teams. The team had 16 PR's (Personal Best) scores/times in their events. Highlighted by Karmoni Polk taking 1st place in the Varsity Shot Put and Alex Marquez in the JV Shot Put. The team competes this Thursday for the Indoor Conference Title at Reavis.
Oak Lawn esports won BIG this weekend at Crete-Monee! In Madden, Senior Dante Eleby finished 5th and Junior Danny Castillo finished in 2nd place. Our Super Smash Brothers Ultimate players made huge waves. Senior Angel Lopez placed top 12, Senior Jason Molenaar top 8, Junior Arriyon Harrington top 6, and with Super Sonic speed, Junior Kelvin Stewart finished 3rd in Solos finals. Incredible weekend, Spartans!
FSCAB will be hosting our donut sale THIS Wednesday, March 18th during all lunch periods in the cafeteria. $1 per donut, or $12 per box. See you there!
Juniors, do you want to do well on your ACT test? Make sure to sign up for the ACT prep sessions during Spartan Plus. Our first session will start on Monday, March 16. Space is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible.
Attention Spartans! Want some Spartan swag for just a few bucks? The OLCHS Thrift Shop is opening its doors Monday and Tuesday after Spring Break during Spartan Plus in Room 260.
Everything is a steal at only $1–$2 per item! If you’d like to shop, simply ask your Spartan Plus teacher for a pass. Once you’ve finished shopping, you’ll be sent back to class. Don’t miss your chance to score some awesome Spartan gear for cheap!
Ramadan To-Go Meals Available in the Cafe
To support those observing Ramadan, the Cafe will offer bagged to-go meals through Wednesday, March 18. These meals are designed to be picked up during regular lunch periods and enjoyed later at sunset. Simply select your meal and bring it to the cashier to check out.
