Oak Lawn Community High School is proud to announce that sixteen students have been awarded College Board Recognition. The College Board program gives high-achieving students an official academic award to easilyshare on college applications. Students of all backgroundsare eligible based on achievements on AP? Exams and/or PSAT assessments. This national academic honor recognizes students in all communities: First-Generation Recognition Award, Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award, and/or School Recognition Award.
Five students received First Generation Recognition: Halaena Allyson Cielos, Natalia Gorlicka, Cassidy Perry,Mohammed BenGabr, and Zain Mousa. Eleven studentsreceived the School Recognition Award: Mahmoud Abbasi, Abdulrab BenGabr, Mohammed BenGabr, Ara Mae Cabral, Halaena Allyson Cielos, Yusr Elameer, Zain Mousa, Cassidy Perry, Evan Thacker, Logan Thacker, and Abella Vu.
Counselor Jason Rhodes said, “We’re very proud of these 12 students, and their recognition by the College Boardvalidates their academic tenacity and discipline in theclassroom. These honors represent a significantmilestone in their pursuit of excellence and serve as apowerful signal to universities across the country of their readiness to succeed."
