Oak Lawn Esports exploded onto the scene this Saturday at Evergreen Park! Senior Jason Molenaar hailed victorious as First Place in Smash Solos. Senior Angel Lopez scorched the competition, landing Fourth in Smash Solos. Our Madden solos crew blazed their way to Fourth place, and our Smash Team Battle crew hit the ground running. Epic work, gamers!
The Girl's Wrestling team had an excellent performance this past Saturday at the Conference tournament. As a team, they placed 2nd out of 14 schools. Individually, we had multiple champs and placers. Elizabeth Bisonaya- 1st place, Ariana Caudillo- 3rd place, Eliana Caudillo 2nd place, Arabella Montoya- 4th place, Journey Jackson- 1st place, Jazmin Miramontes- 4th place, Nataly Romero- 3rd place, Bianca Ocampo- 2nd place and Naomi Vega- 3rd place. The team will be competing in the regional tournament on February 6th, please wish them luck!
On Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 in the OLCHS Performing Arts Center to support your Oak Lawn Spartans, Michael Concannon, Liliana Davis, and Sophie Mathews, as they compete against students from Argo, Evergreen Park, and Reavis to find this year’s AERO Karaoke champion! Tickets are $5 and will be sold online and at the door, https://omella.com/yyyj2. All proceeds benefit the AERO school Fine Arts programs. Come out and join us, these Spartans need your votes!
Spartans! This February, our school will be celebrating Black History Month, and we have some great activities planned for you. Black Student Union and Spanish Honor Society are joining forces to create fun and engaging Spartan Plus sessions. They include Trivia Challenges where you can win prizes. Be on the lookout for these sessions posted soon in Skyward so you can sign up. Don’t miss out on these opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate together. Valentine’s Day is almost here! Creative Writing Club is sponsoring a Valentines Poetry contest to start the Spring semester! Enter as many poems as you would like. Submissions must be original. Deadline is Monday, February 9th. Winner will be notified on Thursday February 12th. Please email entries to Mrs. Razik at [email protected].

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2025-26 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123. If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.
