She shoots, she rebounds, she passes, and she plays defense. Oak Lawn Community High School’s Bianca Fleitas does it all on the court for the girls basketball team. Her month of December had all that, and she earned Spartan Athlete of the Month honors.
In December, Fleitas scored 145 points, grabbed 46 rebounds, dished out 32 assists, had 28 steals, and blocked 23 shots. The Spartans were 8-3 in the month, and they won the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. Fleitas was named as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and earlier in the month she was an all-tournament selection at the Lady Spartan Holiday Tournament.
There were some special moments along the way for Fleitas. She scored 30 points against Hillcrest. She had 17 points, six rebounds, and six blocks against Providence. She scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and registered six assists against Romeoville.
In Tampa Bay, Fleitas averaged 15 points, four assists, two blocks, eight rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game.
