What: Egyptian, Sudanese and Syrian Culture Night, an evening to highlight the richness and beauty of the three cultures in its many forms, including art, food, songs, dance, music, Sudanese wedding and much more!
When: Friday January 16th, 2026
Time: from 5:30-8:30 PM
Where: at the PAC, park in the student parking lot and enter from door#12D
Cost: FREE (Donation will be accepted to support the Sudanese communities in the USA)
Organizers: Students in the Arabic 3 & 4 Honors classes and members of the AHS club.

The week of January 20th is Bolivia Awareness Week at OLCHS. Culminating with a themed boys' basketball game where your Spartans will take on Evergreen Park at home on Friday, January 23rd. The game has been designated "Ballin' for Bolivia" and we are selling t-shirts ahead of the event during all lunch periods next week. They are $20 and look amazing! Payment can be made in the form of cash, a check made payable to "OLCHS", or a donation to our GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/spartans-without-borders.

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2025-26 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123. If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.
Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email [email protected] for tech assistance. If possible, include a screenshot of your issue.
The iTeam Genius Bar is open from 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. Students can come to the Media Center for support.
Club/Team News
Graphic Design Club - Graphic Design Club will meet TODAY from 3-4pm in room 146. New members are always welcome. See Mrs. Hartmann with questions.
Muslim Student Association - MSA will be meeting TOMORROW Thursday January 15th at 3pm. We will start preparing for our Ramadan Iftar, so we need everyone to attend.
SADD - SADD will meet TOMORROW Thursday, January 15, in the Board of Education Room at 3:05PM. New members welcome.
Athletic News
Boys’ Track & Field - The Indoor Season begins on Tuesday, January 20. There will be a Team Meeting on Tuesday, January 20 in the Jr./Sr. Lounge right after school with practice to follow. All athletes need to have a current physical on file and have registered to participate in practice. Registration portal: Boys' Track & Field Registration Please see Coach S.
