Oak Lawn Community High School senior Julia Bolcarovic participated in the Southern Illinois University Aviation Career Day in Carbondale, IL. The Aviation Career Day is a partnership between SIU and United Airlines. Julia was selected to fly from O’Hare Airport to Carbondale on Saturday, October 18, on an expense-paid flight. Julia learned about what it takes to become a pilot, experienced flight simulators, and learned about a career in air traffic control.
In September, Julia also attended the Women in Aviation event at the Chicago Executive Airport. Female pilots inspired Julia to pursue her dream of becoming a pilot herself. Aim high in every sense, Julia!
