Stuff You Need to Know

From the nurse’s office:

All freshmen must provide the health office with their ninth-grade physical examination and record of vaccinations before October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. Additionally, all seniors must provide the health office a copy of their meningococcal vaccine record before October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. These two requirements are state mandated. Please stop by the nurse’s office if you have any questions.

Are you interested in fashion and showing off your Hispanic heritage? Consider being a part of our fashion show for our community outreach event on October 17th from 6-8pm. Let Ms. Torres know and come join us for dress rehearsals on October 7th and 14th from 3-5pm. Those participating in the fashion show will receive a service hour towards their graduation requirement. MSA is hosting a bake sale during all lunch periods TODAY and TOMORROW. All proceeds will be going to Palestine and Sudan.  Lots of goodies to choose from. Thank you for your support!

Thursday, 9/25 - St. Mary’s College of ND, pd. 4/5, University of Missouri, pd. 9 and Western Michigan University, pd. 10

Homecoming guest forms: The homecoming dance is right around the corner!  If you are planning to bring a non-OLCHS guest to the dance, a guest request form must be completed and submitted to the Deans’ Office by THIS THURSDAY September 25th.  The forms are available in the Deans’ Office, Main Office and Student Services.  

Students that need a locker, school issued lock or any other locker related issues, email [email protected].  See your email for further details.

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2025-26 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123.  If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email [email protected] for tech assistance. If possible, include a screenshot of your issue. 

The iTeam Genius Bar is open from 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. Students can come to the Media Center for support.

Club/Team News

Bible Club - If you are interested in learning more about the Bible and the Christian faith, the Bible Club will be having our next meeting this THURSDAY, September 25th, right after school in Mr. Zwirkoski’s room - room 212.  Anyone is welcome.

Also – there is a nationwide event called “See you at the Pole” where students across the country meet to pray for their schools.  If you want to join us, meet at the flagpole by the football field at 8:30 before school TOMORROW - Wednesday, September 24th.

FSCAB - FSCAB will meet on Wednesday Sept 24th at 3pm for our Homecoming decorating party! See you there!

Spartan Tetreezers - Are you ready for some Tetreeze fun? Our new club, Spartan Tetreezers, is thrilled to invite you to join our pilot year! We’ll be meeting on Friday, September 26th at 3 pm in Room 259 for a quick introduction meeting. It’ll be a fantastic chance to learn tetreez and share your culture with others. We can’t wait to see you there!

SENIORS -The Senior Sunrise is this Friday at 6:30 am on the football field. Enjoy bagels, ice coffee, games, and the 'sunrise' on your senior homecoming. The sign-up form has been sent to your Canvas mail. Sign up by Thursday at 3pm.

PSAT/NMSQT: Sophomores & Juniors—the optional PSAT test is Thursday, Oct. 16. Recommended for college-bound students; juniors can qualify for National Merit recognition. Register in Student Services while spots last. Cost: $18 (waived for students on free/reduced lunch). See Mr. Pastiak or your counselor with questions.

Athletic News

Volleyball - Boys' volleyball will have off-season workouts starting this Thursday, September 25th. Workouts will take place most Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Anyone interested in Boys' volleyball is welcome to join.  We will meet outside of the weight room at 3:00 on Thursday. Please see Mrs. Coppin if you have any questions.
