Girls Flag Football pulled off another win 12-6 vs Reavis!! Reese Gabriel had a fantastic catch to put them on the board to make the score 6-6. QB Evelyn Strelow ran the ball in to make the score 12-6. Their record now is 4-1!! Come support them Thursday as they take on Morton at home!! 

The 2024-2025 yearbooks are ready for pickup. 

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: Yearbooks can be picked up in room 366 before or after school.

2025 Grads: The graduate, parents, or siblings are able pick up the yearbook in the main office 126 during school hours (7:30 A.M.-3:30 PM). Those from outside the building must check into the greeter station at the Southwest Highway entrance before heading to the office. Remember to check if you bought a personalized book. 

Homecoming guest forms: The homecoming dance is right around the corner!  If you are planning to bring a non-OLCHS guest to the dance, a guest request form must be completed and submitted to the Deans’ Office by September 25th.  The forms are available in the Deans’ Office, Main Office and Student Services.  

Students that need a locker, school issued lock or any other locker related issues, email [email protected].  See your email for further details.

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2025-26 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123.  If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email [email protected] for tech assistance. If possible, include a screenshot of your issue. 

The iTeam Genius Bar is open from 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. Students can come to the Media Center for support.

Club/Team News

Bible Club - If you are interested in learning more about the Bible and the Christian faith, the Bible Club will be having first official meeting this THURSDAY, September 11th right after school in Mr. Zwirkoski’s room - room 212.  Anyone is welcome.

Chess Team - The chess team will have practices Tuesday September 9th and Thursday the 11th in room 286 from 3:05-4:00 Players of all chess ability are welcome. We will go over the schedule and expectations for the season. Creative Writing Club - Are you up for some creative writing fun? Creative Writing Club would love for you to join us this year! We’ll be meeting TODAY at 3 pm in room 113, right down the hall from the media center. It’ll be a great opportunity to share your poetry, short stories, and other creative works with others. Hope to see you there!

FSCAB - FSCAB will host our second meeting TOMORROW Wednesday, September 10th. It’s not too late to join, Freshman and Sophomores- bring a friend and see you there!

SADD Club - Students Against Destructive Decisions will have their first meeting on Thursday, September 11, at 3PM in Room 119. New members are welcome to attend. 

Speech - Hello Spartans! Speech season is around the corner, and we want to see you there. We have an Info Meeting TODAY from 3:00-4:00 in Mr. Olsson’s classroom, Room 34 in the English hallway. All returning members should attend to schedule their first practices, and interested new folks should come by to learn more about speech, especially if you’re a fan of drama, comedy, storytelling, poetry, or writing! If you cannot attend on September 9th, we will have a follow-up meeting on Friday September 12th from 3:00-3:30, also in Room 34. We are so excited for this season to start and hope that you join us for it!

Student Helpers – We will meet on Thursday, 9/11 at 3p in the Jr/Sr lounge to discuss homecoming, mentoring and a few other things.  Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors interested in joining should attend.  This will be one of the last opportunities to be a Student Helper for the 25-26 school year.  

Theater Crew - Hello Spartans! Our musical season has started and the crew season has arrived. But it’s not too late to join crew!  If you’re interested in building our Hadestown set, come on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5! If you want to paint and decorate our set come on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 also! Our musical season wouldn’t be complete without you there. See you there!

PSAT/NMSQT: Sophomores & Juniors—the optional PSAT test is Thursday, Oct. 16. Recommended for college-bound students; juniors can qualify for National Merit recognition. Register in Student Services while spots last. Cost: $18 (waived for students on free/reduced lunch). See Mr. Pastiak or your counselor with questions.
