SPARTANS CELEBRATE CREATIVITY

The annual Oak Lawn Community High School District 229 Fine Arts Fair was a resounding success this year, showcasing the exceptional talent and creativity of Spartan artists and musicians. The event, one of the largest art fairs in the community, took place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, and featured an array of performances and exhibitions, highlighting the dedication and hard work of students at all levels. The day began with the National Art Honors Society induction. Afterwards, visitors viewed exhibitions throughout the Performing Arts Center, which included 3-D ceramics in the dressing rooms and painting and photography in the vestibule. Musicians from band, guitar, and choir classes performed throughout the day.

Student bands performed well-known songs from established bands while students painted in real-time. The entire day was a celebration of the work of the art teachers and the artisanship of their students.

Fine Arts Department Chair Semaj Coleman said, “This arts fair is a celebration of the creativity of our amazing students. It was great to see the integration of art forms, such as the student painters during the musical concerts!”
