CAMERON BREAKS OUT TO EARN OLCHS ‘ATHLETE OF MONTH’

Senior Molly Cameron’s breakout season in girls track and field continued this April. Between the high jump and triple jump, she compiled eight first-place finishes along with three second-place finishes during the month. She also is a four-time champion at invitationals in that same time span.

As a result, Cameron has been named the Oak Lawn Community High School “Athlete of the Month” for April.

“She is ranked number-one in the South Suburban Conference as well and number-one in the Illinois High School Association Oak Park Sectional,” head coach Joe Butler said. “To top that off, she is currently the eighth-ranked high jumper in the state of Illinois. Her leadership by example along with her willingness to master a new event during her senior year is a coach’s dream.”
