High praise does not usually come without the hard work that helped earn that praise. Oak Lawn Community High School’s Gio Gonzalez certainly put in the hard work, and he is now receiving the praise.
Improving all aspects of his game, Gonzalez is a stable force in the boys volleyball lineup. His head coach can’t say enough about the advancement in his game.
“Gio has been nothing short of phenomenal this season,” head coach Matt Hunt said. “Gio has significantly enhanced his attacking skills, becoming a formidable threat at the net. His commitment to improving his defense has paid off with noticeable upgrades in his dig statistics.
“Gio’s serving game has reached new heights with improvements in both aces and serving percentage. His serve receive rating has shown remarkable progress, making him a reliable passer in crucial moments. Gio’s ability to terminate plays has improved, contributing to more points for our team. We’re incredibly proud of Gio’s achievements and can’t wait to see how he continues to develop throughout the rest of the season.”
