Congratulations to the Journalism Team for their strong performances at State. Senior Rocco Santoro earned second place in State for Sports Writing. Sara Abdelrahman took third place in Yearbook Caption Writing.

Congrats to Jack Chorney for taking 1st in the Madden event at the IHSA sectionals tournament this weekend, qualifying for the state championship this Saturday. Shoutout to the smash crew battle team for taking 3rd place at sectionals and Jason Molenaar for placing top 8.

Congratulations to the Girls Track & Field team who finished second at the 10th Annual Dale Janssen Track Invitational this past Thursday, April 24thThe Spartans were led by first place finishers: Senior Molly Cameron in the High Jump & Triple Jump along with Freshman Anneli Misner in the 3200 meter run. 

On Saturday, May 10th OLCHS will be hosting the 2nd annual Fire Buddies Field Day from 1 – 3pm. Bring your younger brothers and sisters out to enjoy relays, a bouncy house, face painting, tour of a fire truck, and much more. Sign up through Omella: FIRE BUDDIES FIELD DAYS. The cost to attend is only $5 and all proceeds go to support Project Fire Buddies.

We also need volunteers to help with this event. You can earn 3 service-learning hours by signing up through the service-learning calendar. See your counselor if you need help signing up.

Seniors along with Track & Field fans -- tomorrow afternoon, April 29th, the Girls’ Track & Field team will host their annual Senior Night at 4:30pm!  If you are short on your service hours, the team has a few jobs available.  The time commitment is 4pm to 7pm.  Please email Coach Butler  if you are interested in volunteering for the meet.

Ventra cards can be renewed for the 2024-25 school year and new Ventra cards can be purchased for $2.00 in the Business Office, Room 123.  If you’ve already purchased a card online from the OLCHS Webstore, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to renew or purchase a card.

Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email iPad Support for tech assistance. If possible, include a screenshot of your issue. 

The iTeam Genius Bar is open from 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. Students can come to the Media Center for support.

Club/Team News

FSAB - FSCAB's next meeting will be Wednesday, April 30th in Student Services. Please make sure to complete the officer applications for next school year by the end of the school day on Wednesday, April 30th to be considered for a leadership position!

Journalism - The Journalism Team will have an informational meeting Friday, May 9th at 3:05 in room 366. The meeting will discuss opportunities to compete in writing events, broadcast, artistic competitions, design, photography and much more. We hope to see you there.
