FRESHMAN BOWLER PETER GARCIA STEALS SPOTLIGHT AT OLCHS

There is no beginner’s luck for freshman boys bowler Peter Garcia at Oak Lawn Community High School, but there is dominance in this rising star’s skills on the lanes. In the first seven matches of the season, Garcia is leading the team with an average of 216 pins per game. As a team Oak Lawn is 7-0 on the year.

He finished second individually in the very tough, 14-team Spartan Invite and was instrumental in winning the team championship there. Early into the season, Garcia has bowled eight games over 230 pins, including a 258 (twice) and a 244 (twice).

“As a freshman Peter stepped into a starting role on varsity the first day of the season,” head coach Kevin Walery said. “The sky is the limit for this young Spartan bowler.”
