OAK LAWN DOUBLES TEAM PUSHES SPARTANS TO TOP OF CONFERENCE

It may have taken a little time, but in the end, it was all worth the wait. The Oak Lawn Community High School doubles tennis duo of Madyson Lane and Hannah Leanos took a while to mesh on the court, but by the conclusion of the season they had cemented themselves as the third doubles team.

They eventually dominated conference opponents on the way to winning the South Suburban Conference Red championship. It was their decisive victory in the championship match for third doubles at conference that put the Spartans over the top to claim the SSC Red team title.

“The team was almost a perfect combo,” head coach Dan Doyle said. “Leanos anchored the net while opponents had to deal with Lane’s strong groundstrokes from the baseline. The conference didn’t have an answer for Leanos and Lane, but they provided all the answers for the Spartans.”
