To be a successful runner, an athlete needs to consistently work at his craft, continue to lower times, and he must maintain a focus on improving. Senior Hamzah Abdeljaber has taken this to heart as he runs with the Oak Lawn Community High School boys cross country team.
He is a four-year runner, who put a lot of work into his running this past summer and secured himself a varsity Top-7 spot for the first time in his career. He continues to improve and will make an impact for the Spartans this fall.
“His dedication to the sport is a great example to new athletes,” head coach Martin Chappetto said. “He excels in the classroom and at practice and is a model example of a great Spartan student-athlete.”
