Gymnastics may have laid the groundwork, but attitude, performance, and willingness to learn finished the job. Oak Lawn Community High School freshman Isabella Tinajero flipped her way into a role on the varsity cheer team. She is a first-year cheerleader.
“Being a gymnast, she is an excellent addition to our squad,” head coach Maria Vanderwarren said. “She works very well with her peers, is very dedicated, and will do whatever is needed to better the squad. Her willingness to learn, determination, and attitude are among the best assets.
“Bella is a pleasure to coach and takes corrections as well as bumps and bruises easily without complaint. We are fortunate to have such a talented athlete on our squad and look forward to having her in our program for years to come.”
