OAK LAWN’S CANVIN COMPLETES GOLF CAREER WITH CONSISTENCY

For the last four years, Jake Canvin has been on the varsity boys golf team at Oak Lawn Community High School. Each year he improved his shot, lowered his score, and built his confidence. So, when he hit a par on the 18th hole of the recent Illinois High School Association Sectional meet to end his high school career, it was a fitting conclusion.

“Jake was a four-year varsity player and has improved his nine-hole and 18-hole averages every year,” head coach Shawn Neubauer said. “He was a medalist in nine matches and had seven birdies this year. He participated in the IHSA Regional and qualified to play in the IHSA Sectional in back-to-back seasons. Jake took a leadership role this season and has helped the younger players improve their games.”
