Calling all Spooky Spartans! Do you like Fall, scary things, pumpkins, and ghouls? What about all things Halloween? Creative Writing Club is sponsoring the Halloween/Fall Poetry contest!
Submit your poem by October 24th at 3pm to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prizes for poems that will chill our spines! One entry per person, please! Please email your poem to Mrs. Razik [email protected] or Mrs. Madsen [email protected] by October 24th at 3pm to be eligible to win a prize.
Project Fire Buddies T-shirts for sale Wednesday/Thursday during lunches! OLCHS has partnered with the Oak Lawn Fire Department Chapter of PFB. PFB is an organization that helps families with a critically ill child. Help might look like bringing the firetruck by or making Halloween special or attending their birthday party…anything to put a smile on the child’s face. Help for the parents might be in the form of helping with repairs, assembling a wheelchair ramp or just being there for extra support. The shirt sale helps fund these activities. The shirts can be purchased during all lunches on Wednesday and Thursday (The shirts are so comfy and soft)
The Girls Volleyball Program will be hosting its annual Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness Match TODAY at 5:30pm. We will be selling shirts for $15 this week before school in the Spartan Lobby and during Spartan Plus in Room 249. All proceeds will be donated to the Karen Janecek Scholarship. The Creamery Ice-Cream Truck is coming back to OLCHS on Friday, October 13th during all lunch periods. Many specialty items including a sundae bar, colossal cookies, ice cream sandwiches and other treats will be sold. Both cash, credit, & Apple Pay will be accepted. Be a part of something sweet—this is ice-cream you won’t forget!
Beginning Monday, October 16, 2023, breakfast items will be available in the Spartan Lobby from 8:00am -8:25am and from 8:50am – 9:15am on Wednesdays. The price of the complete breakfast meal will either be Free, Reduced ($.30) or Paid ($3.50). A complete breakfast meal includes one entrée and a minimum of one, up to two sides (unless otherwise marked). In addition to the complete meal, a la carte items such as breakfast bars, granola bars, etc. will also be available for purchase.
In preparation for next week, limited items will be available this week. Be ready to show your ID and please eat your breakfast BEFORE the start of your first period.
Keep an eye out for the breakfast cart in the Spartan Lobby!

Ventra Cards are now available for sale in the Business Office, Room 123. Cost is $2.00. If you’ve already purchased a card online, please pick it up in the Business Office. Business Office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. Plan accordingly! You will not be excused from class to pick up/purchase a card.

To attend a visit, please sign up to attend in Naviance. All passes must be approved in e-hall pass BEFORE reporting to the visit.

- This weekend is the last volunteer orientation at the Children's Farm – if you want to volunteer for any of their fall Pumpkin Days, this is your last chance!
- Trinity Lutheran Church is hosting a rummage sale on Sat. 10/14 and needs some helping hands to set up and carry items.
- Signups are now open for the PTSA Craft Fair on Sat. 10/21

IMPORTANT NOTE – There are very few haunted houses that qualify for service hours. If you are interested in volunteering at a haunted house, please make sure you check with Mrs. Kenny FIRST to ensure it is approved and that you will get credit for your time.

Cheer - The Cheer program will have an open gym on Monday 10/16 and Tuesday 10/17 from 3:30pm till 5pm. Please attend if you are interested in trying out for cheer and would like to work on skills. Also any questions/concerns you have can be addressed. See you at open gym! Coach Vanderwarren
