Alexis Villarreal wanted to start her senior season with a bang after batting .403 last year for Oak Lawn Community High School. In the season-opener against Chicago Christian, she made that desire a reality.
Villarreal had four hits, including a triple, drove in five runs, and scored three runs. She also patrolled centerfield with confidence as the Spartans won 17-12.
“Last season Alexis’ batting average was .403, which was third best on the team,” head coach Shawn Neubauer said. “She wanted to start her senior season strong.”
He mission has been accomplished. The Spartans are looking for more of the same this entire season.
