Stuff You Need to Know
From the nurse’s office:
All freshmen must provide the health office with their ninth-grade physical examination and record of vaccinations before October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. Additionally, all seniors must provide the health office a copy of their meningococcal vaccine record before October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. These two requirements are state mandated. Please stop by the nurse’s office if you have any questions.
OLAS IS HOSTING A SPECIAL EVENT FOR YOU! Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us TOMORROW Thursday, September 17, after school outside Student Services by Southwest Highway. Bring your own white T-shirt and tie-dye it in the colors of the flag that represents your roots! Bring your shirt. Wear your flag. Celebrate your roots!
Join Alliance for an all-student event this Sunday, September 20, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. in the Media Center! Come play board games, sing karaoke, or create art. All students are welcome!

Bible Club - If you are interested in learning more about the Bible and the Christian faith, the Bible Club will be having a meeting TOMORROW THURSDAY, September 17th right after school in Mr. Z’s room - room 212. No problem if you missed our first meeting. Anyone is welcome.
BSU - Black Student Union is meeting TOMORROW Thursday, from 3:00 - 4:00, in Room 29. We need to finalize fundraising and homecoming activities, so please be there! Everyone is welcome!
FSCAB - FSCAB will host a make-up meeting TOMORROW Thursday 9/17 in room 117, college and career center. Please come by for games and snacks! See you there!

Speech - Spartans, are YOU interested in starting something NEW? Well, it’s not too late to join the Speech Team! We will be holding a New Member Workshop TODAY (Wed. Sep. 16) from 3-4 in Room 34. Join us to learn about the 14 Speech events, how tournaments work, and how you can compete! Everyone on the Speech Team hopes to see you there. Have Questions? PSAT/NMSQT Registration Is Open! Sophomores and juniors can now register for the optional PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 7 from 8:00–11:00 a.m. at OLCHS. The PSAT/NMSQT is recommended for students considering a four-year college, and juniors may also qualify for National Merit recognition or scholarships.
Cost: $18
Register: Bring cash or a check payable to OLCHS to the Counseling Office, Room 117. Fee waivers are available for eligible students.
Deadline: September 24, or earlier if all testing spots are filled. Registration is first come, first served.
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: If you’re interested in the military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or National Guard) or want to explore career options after high school, you should take the ASVAB exam.
Date: Wednesday, November 4, 2026
Cost: Free
Note: You must register in advance.
If interested, fill out the Google form or see your school counselor by Friday, October 2.
Admissions representatives from the following schools will be visiting OLCHS this week:
Friday, 9/18 - Northwestern University, pd. 4/5 and Chapman University, pd. 9
To attend any of these visits, students should sign up in Schoolinks at least one day before the visit.

Nothing Bundt Cakes will be back TONIGHT to sell those delicious bundt cakes during the JV and Varsity football games! Nothing Bundt Cakes will be selling their delicious bundtlets for $7, and $1 from each sale will be donated to Student Council.
