Over 100 student leaders participated in the annual Student Leadership Conference on November 16, 2018.  This year’s theme was “Be the Best Version of You.”

All club presidents and vice-presidents, varsity team captains, select members of Student Council & National Honor Society, and Freshmen Academy students were invited to the conference.  Students had the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills by participating in numerous small group discussions and activities.  Eddie Slowikowski, internationally known speaker and peak performance expert, motivated students to strive to be the best versions of themselves through teamwork and diligence with a little dancing thrown in for fun!

Conference attendees also earned 1.5 hours of community service at their choice of various locations.  Projects included collecting Hines VA Hospital donations, leaf raking in local yards, volunteering at the Oak Lawn Public Library, making blankets for Project Linus, doing Random Acts of Kindness in downtown Oak Lawn and various art therapy activities.

The annual student leadership conference is sponsored by Student Council and National Honor Society.  Event chaperones included Jennifer Clark, Jeremey Cryan, Jamie Hernandez, Karyn Horn, Kelly Kenny, Jeana Lietz, Jessica Nickless, Jennifer Sidlow, Jennifer Wargin, and Marcus Wargin.
