Shuttle Bus Service to the Parade

Homecoming Parade: Wednesday, September 29, 2021

If you are part of the homecoming parade on Wednesday, September 29 and you need a ride to the start of the parade route a First Student school bus will be available to transport students, staff, and parade participants from the Spartan Lobby Entrance to Alive Church (89th Street & Austin Avenue).  The bus service will begin at 5:15 p.m. and continue until 6:20 p.m.  The bus is free.

Our Hispanic Heritage Month fact of the day presented by the OLCHS International Club is… Dr. Ellen Ochoa was the first Hispanic woman astronaut to go into space when she served aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery.

Come Support Simmons Middle School tonight at McDonald’s.  Simmons will be hosting a Drive-Thru fundraiser from 4PM – 7PM.  Show the flyer (attached to email), buy an apple pie, or just give them a tip.  Any support would be greatly appreciated!

Club/Team News

Bible Club - If you are interested in joining the OLCHS Bible Club but missed our first meeting – you are still welcome to join us. Our next meeting is TOMOROW Thursday, September 30th from 3:00-3:45 in room 212.  Meetings will be every other Thursday.  Bible Club is an organization designed to engage students in activities, conversations, service, and Bible study to encourage students in their Christian faith.  Anyone is welcome!
Student Helpers - Are you a sophomore, junior, or senior interested in helping others? Student Helpers assist freshmen and other new students as they get used to our school. We escort them to their classes for 2 days, we have 8th graders shadow us on Shadow Days in November, help raise money for scholarships and have opportunities to work with Spartans with special needs. All students who exemplify positive spartan PRIDE characteristics can join. If that’s you, Mrs. Meierkort and Mr. Olumstad want you to complete this form to let us know you’re interested!
