Stuff You Need to Know

 

Are you interested in learning about the National Guard and how it can help with your future education? Come to Mrs. Mannion’s room on Thursday, October 17, 2019 during Spartan Plus in room 380. You will learn about what the National Guard is and how you can get help with your college education, tuition and fees funded for undergraduate and graduate studies in the state of Illinois. Sign up in Arena Scheduling under Physical Education / Mrs. Mannion.

 

 

Freshmen, don’t forget to bring in your Physical by October 15th. Seniors, don’t forget to bring in your proof of the meningitis shot by October 15th.

 

 

Representatives from the following schools will be visiting OLCHS this week:

 

Wednesday 10/9 – Monmouth College, pd. 2, Elmhurst College, pd. 8/9 and University of Notre Dame, pd. 10

Thursday 10/10 – Bethel College, pd. 2 and Chicago State University, pd. 5/6

Friday 10/11 – University of Houston, pd. 2

 

Students interested in attending these visits should sign up in Naviance no later than 24 hours before the visit. 

 

 

Need service hours?  There are lots of fun opportunities happening this weekend!

  • Help stock the Our Lady of the Ridge Food Pantry
  • Help set up a pumpkin patch at the First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn (and get lunch afterwards!)
  • Support the American Cancer Society by helping set up the Making Strides walk in Orland Park and cheer on walkers
  • Looking ahead to next week… the PTSA Craft Show needs volunteers and seniors who want to apply for their scholarship should definitely sign up for a shift!

Club/Team News

Girls’ Badminton. There will be a badminton open gym this Monday, October 14 1-3pm in gym 10. You will need gym shoes, athletic clothing, and a racket if you have one. If you don’t have a racket, rackets will be provided for play. If you have any questions see Coach Shafer.
