Stuff You Need to Know
Reminder to students – if you are interested in volunteering at a haunted house for service hours, you MUST check with Mrs. Kenny first! Not all haunted houses are approved for service hours, se don’t find out the hard way your time won’t count for service hours!
If you need service hours, check out opportunities in the Cook County Forest Preserve this weekend. The PTSA Craft Show is coming up on October 20 – students interested in volunteering should see Mrs. Kenny to sign up for a shift. Seniors, don’t forget that volunteering with the PTSA makes you eligible to receive one of their scholarships at the end of the year.
This is a reminder for freshman to bring in their physicals and for seniors to bring in proof of their meningitis shot. You will be excluded from attending school on October 15th if this is not handed in.
Admissions reps from the following schools will be visiting this week:
Thursday 10/4 – St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame pd. 5/6 and DePaul University pd. 10
Please see or email Mrs. Kenny for a pass to attend any of these visits at least one day before the visit. Seniors who have these schools saved in Career Cruising will automatically receive a pass to attend.
Alliance - October is National Bullying Prevention Month.
- There are three types of bullying.
- Social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships. Social bullying includes:
o Leaving someone out on purpose
o Telling other children not to be friends with someoneo Spreading rumors about someone
o Embarrassing someone in public
