Stuff You Need to Know

A representative from Southwest Airlines will be here this Friday, during Spartan Plus, to discuss careers in the aviation industry.  Careers such as ramp agents, provisioning agents, operations agents, flight attendants, and pilots are just some of the jobs that will be discussed.  This spartan plus is open to all students.  Search for “Southwest” under “Other” in Arena Scheduling to sign up.


Cafeteria – Just a reminder…. You MUST have an ID in order to get breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria. If you do not have your ID with you, go to on your iPad and login with your school Google account. A QR code for the website is available near each cashier. If you receive a message that you don’t have a photo, please go to the Media Center to have a photo taken and get your ID printed.  
Tech Help - If you’re having trouble logging into your classes or having any other tech issues, please email for tech assistance. If possible, include a screen shot of your issue.

Club/Team News

Black Student Union – Join the Black Student Union for a meeting TODAY from 3:00-3:45 in Room 202. New members are always welcome!

Student Council - If you received an invitation to the upcoming Student Leadership Conference, please bring your completed field trip form to Mrs. Sidlow in the Media Center by TODAY October 27 @3:30pm. No late forms will be accepted. 

Theater- This week is our Mamma Mia! themed spirit week!  TOMORROW Friday will be disco day (wear funky and disco clothes!) We can’t wait to see you show your spirit!

Athletic News

The winter athletic season is right around the corner! Registration is now open for all students that would like to tryout for a winter sport. Winter sports include Boys Bowling, Competitive Cheerleading, Competitive Dance, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling, Girls Bowling, and Boys Swim & Dive. Tryout dates for each individual program vary. Please check your email for directions on how to register, or head to the OLCHS Athletics web page for more information.

Boys Track and Field - This track season is right around the corner! If you are interested in coming out to run, throw, or jump with us, please reach out to Coach Jensen ( The Boys Track and Field team has been excellent over the past 6 seasons, with 15 events qualified for state, 2 all-state athletes, and 2 school records broken! We won the in indoor conference champions last season and just missed being outdoor champions by 6 points!  If you want to join our tradition of success, we will have a meeting on Friday, November 18th at 3:30pm in the Little Theater to discuss preseason! Hope to see you then!

Cheer - Tryouts for the Competitive/Basketball Cheer season will be held TODAY Thursday October 27th from 3:30 to 6:00 in Gym 101. All participants must register on 8 to 18.  Questions, see Coach Vanderwarren in the district office, Office 123. Go Spartans!!
