Stuff You Need to Know

Shadow Days are coming up soon!  If your brother or sister is planning on coming to school with you please remind them to turn in their permission slips to Office 126.  Also, in order to host an 8th grader, YOU MUST ATTEND the Shadow Day Meeting on Thursday, November 8th at 3:30 p.m. in the Jr. Sr. Lounge.   The meeting will be very brief so please make arrangements to be there if you want to participate. This meeting is NOT FOR STUDENT HELPERS!  See Mrs. Meierkort in Student Services before school if you have questions.

Student Helpers have a meeting this Friday, November 9th after school to prepare for Shadow Days in the junior/senior lounge right after school.

Do you have service hours that you never turned in?  Great news!  This week is Service Learning Amnesty Week.  Dig those “old” hours out of the bottom of your locker or backpack and bring them to Mrs. Kenny in Student Services Office 117.  As long as the hours are verified, the missed deadline will be forgiven and the hours will be logged in Skyward.

Check in Skyward – are you missing credit for hours turned in?  You might have incomplete paperwork, which means those hours haven’t been logged yet.  Come to Computer Lab 32 during Spartan Plus on Monday 11/5 to complete the paperwork and get credit for your volunteer work.  Students should receive invites to this open house and will not need to stay the entire time.

Need hours?  Sign up to participate in the Veteran’s Day Service project in the Media Center during Spartan Plus on Thursday, 11/8. Students will earn 1 non-OLCHS hour for volunteering!

Seniors – check your schedule – you MAY have a Service Learning seminar this Friday!

Admissions reps from the following schools will be visiting this week:

Monday, 11/5/18 – Aurora University, pd. 10

Tuesday, 11/6/18 – Eastern IL University ON SITE Admissions, pd. 8-10

Please see or email Mrs. Kenny for a pass to attend any of these visits at least one day before the visit.  Seniors who have these schools saved in Career Cruising will automatically receive a pass to attend.
