Stuff You Need to Know
The winter season officially kicks off at home this Friday night with our annual Winter Green and White Night. The event starts at 5 p.m. and will showcase boys’ basketball, wrestling, cheer, and dance. The Athletic Office wants to remind all students that you MUST have your current student ID in hand to enter home basketball games. Also, no backpacks will be allowed when entering the gym. Our athletic programs always love having a strong student support section at our home games, so show your Spartan Pride and attend any of our athletic events this season starting Friday night, Thank you.
Need service hours? Come help rake leaves for senior citizens this Saturday from 8:00 – Noon at the Oak Lawn Community Partnership Serv-A-Thon! No sign up necessary, just meet at Village Hall at 7:45 Saturday morning. Please bring a rake if you can, and make sure you dress for the outdoors. Transportation is provided from Village Hall and lunch is served to all volunteers at the end of the day.
Seniors – don’t forget! If you want to be exempt from Sem. 1 final exams, you must turn in your service hours to Mrs. Kenny by the end of the day on Thursday, November 30!
Football. For all football players not playing a winter sport, there is an off-season training meeting today in Room 271 after school.
Boys’ Track and Field. The Boys’ Track and Field program will begin its preseason conditioning program starting Monday, November 27th. There will be a meeting after school on Tuesday, November 21st in the Little Theater for all boys interested in joining us for preseason workouts. The preseason calendar and policies will be discussed. Get ahead of the competition before the season starts in January!
Seniors. If you missed your chance to order Senior Gear, the store is open again until Monday, November 27. Check your email for details.
Student Council. The annual Student Council Thanksgiving Food Drive is Tuesday, November 21. You will collect items with your advisory class and bring the meal baskets to the Spartan Lobby that day. All donations go to local food pantries.
