Stuff You Need to Know

No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone.  Student Council is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on November 19.  With advisories, Spartans are asked to collect 15 items to create a meal basket.  Those advisories creating three or more meal baskets will have an after school pizza party from Student Council.  All donations go to two local food pantries.  Please consider participating to help your neighbors in need.

Mrs. Rafferty’s class will be hosting a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House on Wednesday, 11/15/2018 during all lunch periods. Any donation is welcome. Please stop by the café to help us raise money to support our local RMHC at Christ Hospital. All proceeds go directly to helping local families in need.

Do you want to learn more about iMovie? Join Eman Alghazzawi, Omar Alqazaq and Carlos Rafael Francia on Thursday during Spartan Plus to learn about creating cool movies with iMovie. There will be free donuts!

If you are UNDER the age of 16, and want to learn how to get a workers permit, sign up for Mr. Krupa’s Spartan Plus Thursday. Mr. Krupa will review what is needed to get a workers permit and talk about ways to find a part-time job. Students can find these in Arena Scheduling by filtering by Subject: Other or by Teacher.

Friday we will be following bell schedule D, due to a morning assembly. Make sure you arrive to school on time! 1st period starts at 8:32 and 2nd period starts at 9:09.

Admissions reps from the following schools will be visiting this week:

Tuesday 11/13 – Northern IL University, pd. 5/6 and Benedictine University, pd. 10

Thursday 11/15 – Indiana State University, pd. 2 and Northeastern IL University, pd. 10

Please see or email Mrs. Kenny for a pass to attend any of these visits at least one day before the visit.  Seniors who have these schools saved in Career Cruising will automatically receive a pass to attend.
