Stuff You Need to Know
The Oak Lawn Speech Team took third place at the Marian Classic tournament this past Saturday. Emily March was the tournament champion in Informative Speaking and Omar Alqazak was the tournament champion in Original Comedy. Aisling Berry was runner-up in Prose Reading and took third place in Original Oratory.
Jesenia Martinez took fourth place in Humorous Interpretation, Moises Bello took fifth place in Radio Speaking and sixth place in Original Oratory, Bianca Honeycutt took sixth place in Humorous Interpretation, and Grace Trout took sixth place in Informative Speaking. Marlene Favila and Jonathan McLawhorn were both finalists in Informative Speaking.
The team will be competing at the Thornton Turkey Tourney and the Reavis Ram Yam this Saturday. Go Spartans!
Winter athlete registration is now open for all winter athletic programs. This includes basketball, bowling, swim, and wrestling. Please use the registration link and step-by-step instructions available on the athletic page to complete this. Only pre-registered athletes will be able to tryout/practice the first day of winter season. Don’t miss your chance to join our winter programs. Boys’ Track and Field. The Boys’ Track and Field program will begin its preseason conditioning program starting Monday, November 27th. There will be a meeting after school on Tuesday, November 21st in the Little Theater for all boys interested in joining us for preseason workouts. The preseason calendar and policies will be discussed. Get ahead of the competition before the season starts in January!
