Stuff You Need to Know

College Rep Visits- Representatives from the following schools will be virtually visiting with Spartans this week: 
Tuesday, 11/10 – Lewis University (1:20 pm)
Thursday, 11/12 – Southern IL University Carbondale (12:30 pm) and Seton Hall University (2:10 pm)
To attend a visit, please sign up to attend in Naviance. To do this:
1. Log into Naviance
2. Click on “Colleges” and “Colleges Home”
3. Scroll down to the bottom right, where you will see a list of college visits scheduled at OLCHS.
4. Select the visit you want to sign up for.
Registration will close one hour before the start of the visit. A link to the visit will be sent to all students registered at the start time of the virtual visit. 
Fall Sports Awards Night- The Athletic Department is proud to present the 54th Annual Fall Sports Awards Night TONIGHT, November 10th, 2020 at 7pm. Join us as we celebrate the fall season, provide program recaps, and award our MVP, Sportsmanship, and academic achievement honors. The ceremony will stream live on our Athletic YouTube Channel this Tuesday at 7pm. Click this video link to go directly to the watch page. Join in on the fun that night and let others know that you are watching by posting to social media using the #olchspride hashtag! 
The ceremony will highlight the following:
  • Season recaps from our fall program head coaches
  • Fall Program MVP Award winners

  • SSC All Academic Athletic Team Awards

Place money in envelope with YOUR NAME ON IT. Envelope can be placed in Mr. Krupa or Mrs. Newton's mailbox in the main office. You can also drop off the envelope to Mr. Krupa in the counseling office (office 117) or to Mrs. Newton's classroom (room 223). MONEY IS DUE BY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 12TH.

Tech Help Desk- OLCHS is offering daily iPad and app tech support from 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM in the Media Center.  Students will need to check in at the Southwest Highway entrance, door 7.  All students who come on campus must wear a mask and will be temperature checked and screened for COVID symptoms.  No appointments are necessary. If unable to come to school, please take a screenshot of your issue and email 

Clubs/Team News

Winter Sports Tryouts- Oak Lawn Community High School Athletics is excited to be able to offer winter sports for the 2020-2021 school year! Registration is now open for Boys and Girls Bowling, Boys Swimming and Dive, Competitive Cheerleading, and Competitive Dance. All winter sports will begin tryouts on Monday, November 16th. All student-athletes will need to register on 8to18 at and have a valid physical on file with the athletic office prior to 11/16 to tryout. All program tryout information can also be found at under the announcements section.


Boys’ Swimming and Diving- If you are interested in trying out for the Boys Swimming and Diving Team, tryouts will start November 16th at 3:30pm near the pool. Please email Coach Reiff ( if interested!
Competitive CheerTryouts for the competitive cheer season will be held Monday November 16th and Tuesday November 17th from 3:30 to 5 in Gym 10.  You must register on 8 to 18 and have a current physical on file to tryout.  Questions, contact Coach Vanderwarren –
Girls Bowling- Attention all ladies!  Have you missed playing sports and being part of a team?  Well, wait no longer, the winter sports season has arrived!  Girls Bowling tryouts will be Monday, November 16th and Tuesday, November 17th from 3:30 to 5 at Palos Lanes.  Make sure to have a current physical turned into the athletic office and be registered on the 8 to 18 website.  Everyone must wear a mask and pass the wellness screening to tryout.  All are welcome to try out.  See Coach Faro in room 157 with any questions or email her at
