Congratulations to the first place winner of our Halloween/Fall Poetry Contest, Sandy Berg with her amazing poem “’Halloween Chill”. Sandy will receive a $10.00 Amazon Gift Card and a Bag of Jolly Ranchers. We had a large student response to this contest, which made it very difficult to narrow it down to one winner. Thank you to everyone who shared their very awesome poems with us for the contest. Congratulations again Sandy on your excellent poem!
Cafeteria – Just a reminder…. You MUST have an ID in order to get breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria. If you do not have your ID with you, go to myid.olchs.org on your iPad and login with your school Google account. A QR code for the myid.olchs.org website is available near each cashier. If you receive a message that you don’t have a photo, please go to the Media Center to have a photo taken and get your ID printed.

Spartan Screamers - There will be NO meeting on Tuesday. Yearbook photos are on WEDNESDAY after school at 3:05. Please meet Mrs. Marks in the hallway outside of the media center.
The winter athletic season is right around the corner! Registration is now open for all students that would like to tryout for a winter sport. Winter sports include Boys Bowling, Competitive Cheerleading, Competitive Dance, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling, Girls Bowling, and Boys Swim & Dive. Tryout dates for each individual program vary. Please check your email for directions on how to register, or head to the OLCHS Athletics web page for more information.
Boys Basketball - Any Freshman Boys interested in Playing Basketball This Season Boys Basketball tryouts are on Monday, November 7 and Tuesday, November 8! We will hold a short informational meeting followed by a freshman only open gym immediately after school on Tuesday, November 1 in Gym 10 until 4:15. Make sure you have shorts, and basketball shoes with you to play. See you there! If you have questions, email Mr. Rhodes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Anyone interested in being a boys basketball manager this season: The Boys basketball program is looking for a few good managers to help with our teams this season. Coach Rhodes will meet with anyone interested in being a manager this year after school in the Student Services Office 117 on Wednesday, November 2. We will discuss the role of a team manager and expectations for this position. If you have questions, email Mr. Rhodes at email@example.com.
Boys Track and Field -
This track season is right around the corner! If you are interested in coming out to run, throw, or jump with us, please reach out to Coach Jensen (firstname.lastname@example.org). The Boys Track and Field team has been excellent over the past 6 seasons, with 15 events qualified for state, 2 all-state athletes, and 2 school records broken! We won the in indoor conference champions last season and just missed being outdoor champions by 6 points! If you want to join our tradition of success, we will have a meeting on Friday, November 18th at 3:30pm in the Little Theater to discuss preseason! Hope to see you then!
Wrestling - There will be a brief meeting after school on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd for all first year wrestlers on the third floor. Come to ROOM 360 for more information. All returning wrestlers and varsity wrestlers will also have a meeting on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd in Coach Long's ROOM 360. Be prepared to stay until 3:45-4PM.
