Congratulations to the 2021 Journalism Team on a great season. Please congratulate Adriana Hall for a 2nd place in State finish in Photo Story Telling, Elliot Flores for a 4th in State finish in Advertising, and Yusra Abdelrahman for a 4th in State for Editorial Writing.  The team had a lot of great success this year and please reach out to the coaches, if you are interested in being part of that success in the future.

Su Casa Service Announcement - Thank you to everyone who donated so far to our Su Casa fundraiser!  We are about halfway to our goal of being able to provide 300 meals to the homeless. With even a small cash donation, you can help provide food to someone in need in Chicago. Donations can be given directly to Mrs. Lee in the counseling office or Mrs. Rafferty until 5/14. Thanks for your support!

MSA - MSA is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 1st Annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner this year. All students and staff are invited. Please join us for some good food and company!

Student Helpers - Support the Student Helpers fundraiser by visiting our online store of goodies and gifts. You can buy candles, cookies, popcorn, kitchen items, toys, books, masks, and more! Visit out fundraising page: Items are shipped directly to your home so no pickup is necessary. Proceeds will go to Student Helpers and the Spartans Survivor Scholarship for a senior affected by cancer.

The Spartans Survivor Scholarship application is now open to seniors. If you have been affected by cancer and have had a parent or relative with cancer, or you yourself are a cancer survivor, you are eligible to apply here:  The deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 11th at 3:00 p.m.

Club/Team News

Scholarship Opportunity for all Senior Athletes
The OLCHS Athletic Booster Club is excited to offer their annual Joe Pajac Scholarships. Each year, Boosters provides three $1000 scholarships to senior athletes who will be continuing their education after graduation. Athletes must also have a family member that is a Booster Club member. It’s not too late for parents to join the Booster Club. Memberships are still available through the web store on To submit an application, please visit the Athletic Office, or go to and click on the Boosters tab. Applications are due by May 7th.
