Stuff You Need to Know

The drivers education department is currently constructing permit packets for the fall semester. Permit packets will be mailed home to all students the last week of June. Packets will arrive in a large yellow envelope. Once you receive your packet and you have studied for the rules of the road test, you can go and apply for the permit. All students must bring their permits with them to the first day of class in August. If you have any questions, please email any DE staff member.

May is national mental health awareness month. Please stop by the cafeteria during all lunches Thursday to purchase your suicide prevention ribbon for $1.  All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Elyssa’s Mission, an organization that has helped provide support OLCHS for almost 10 years. Elyssa’s Mission provides resources to help prevent teen suicide. This community-based organization was founded in 2006 in honor of Elyssa, a bright, gifted and outgoing Chicagoland girl who bravely battled post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.  Our goal is to raise $250.   Anything you can donate is appreciated!
