Today during Spartan Plus, we have three Student Activism sessions. “Discuss School Safety” will be held with Dr. Lietz for students to voice their concerns. ”1st and 2nd Amendment Discussion will be held with Mr. Biga,” and “Social Media Activism” will be with Mrs. Black and Mrs. Hernandez. Sign up in Arena Scheduling and filter by Subject: Other, or fllter by teacher name. Room locations will appear in your schedule once you are signed up.
Seniors – there are several scholarship deadlines this week! Mrs. Kenny’s mailing deadline for the IL Sherriff’s Association Scholarship is Wednesday, 3/14 and the Oak Lawn Hometown D123 PTA Scholarship is Friday, 3/16.
Other scholarship deadlines this week include FormSwift, NIADA Foundation, Microsoft DisAbility, BMW Engineering, Hancock, Mozley, Blazek Foundation, Sigma Gamma Rho, Beyond the Boroughs, American Foreign Service Association, VarsityTutors.com, and the EIU Panther Ambassador Scholarships.
It is a busy week for college visits! Admissions representatives from the following schools will be visiting OLCHS this week:
Tuesday, 3/13 – Governors State University, pd. 2 and Western IL University, pd. 10
Thursday, 3/14 – DePaul University, pd. 2
Please see or email Mrs. Kenny for a pass to attend any of these visits. Juniors who have these schools saved in their Career Cruising plan will automatically receive a pass.
