Stuff You Need to Know

Seniors!!  Have you checked the Scholarship Bulletin lately?  There are currently over 21 pages of scholarship opportunities to help you pay for college.  Need help with you applications?  See Mrs. Kenny in Student Services Office 117.

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week is a health observance week for teens that aims to SHATTER THE MYTHS about drug and alcohol use. Did you know? : Every 20 minutes, 1 person dies in the United States as a result of a fatal overdose of prescription drugs. Drug overdoses killed 63,632 Americans in 2016 and nearly 2/3rds of the deaths were involving prescriptions or illicit opioids. Students Against Destructive Decisions invites you to raise awareness with us on Tuesdays, after school with Mr. Brida in room 108.

Students, how would you like to turn your Spartan Plus into a pizza party? Mrs. Lee, social worker, is looking for 10-15 students who are willing to take part in a focus group to help improve social emotional learning curriculum to teach teens about suicide prevention and signs of depression. This is an activity initiated by Elyssa’s Mission, a suicide prevention group. All students are welcome and will be rewarded for their time with a pizza party. Students must have parent permission to attend. If you are interested, stop in the counseling office to see Mrs. Lee for a permission form or email her at Thanks!
