The Varsity Scholastic Bowl team finished off another strong conference regular season with a win over Bremen. The team was led by Brandon Gallian with 5 tossups, Quinn Haywood with 2 tossups, and Matthew Perry with 1 tossup. The JV had a big win over TF South. The team was led by Shawn Perry and Camilla Ramirez. Please wish the team luck as we head to Conference.
Looking for an inexpensive prom dress? This Saturday, February 11th will be our annual Cinderella’s Closet pop-up sale. The event will be held from 10am to 1pm in the Dance Studio. All dresses are $10 (cash only). All students are welcome! We hope to see you there!
Each day during Black History Month, the Black Student Union will share information about an individual who has made significant contributions to American history and culture.
February 9 Gordon Parks, born on November 30th, 1912, was the first African American on the staff of LIFE magazine. He had taught himself how to use a camera and used photography to cover subjects of race and poverty but also fashion and entertainment. Parks said, “I saw that the camera could be a weapon against poverty, against racism, against all sorts of social wrongs. I knew at that point I had to have a camera.”
Valentine’s Day Poetry Contest - The OLCHS Spartan Creative Writing Club presents the… Valentine’s Day/Spring Poetry Contest! Please send us your original poems about Valentine’s Day, love, relationships, Spring, etc. Entries are due by Friday, February 10, 2023 @ midnight. The prize for “Best Poem” is a $10 Amazon Gift Card and a bag of Jolly Ranchers. Please check your student e-mail for our contest flyer with all the details needed for you to enter the contest. For this contest, we are accepting 2 entries per person!
Cafeteria – Just a reminder…. You MUST have an ID in order to get breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria. If you do not have your ID with you, go to myid.olchs.org on your iPad and login with your school Google account. A QR code for the myid.olchs.org website is available near each cashier. If you receive a message that you don’t have a photo, please go to the Media Center to have a photo taken and get your ID printed.

Baseball - Next Monday, February 13th, there will be a meeting after school for all students interested in baseball. The meeting will be in r. 27 at 3:10. If you are in a winter sport and cannot attend, please see Coach Gerny during Spartan Plus before Feb. 13. Thank you.
