Stuff You Need to Know

Representatives from the following schools will be visiting OLCHS this week:
Wednesday, 2/5/20 – Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (pd.2)
                                    Northwestern Business College (pd. 5/6)
Thursday, 2/6/20 –     Michigan Technological University (pd. 2)
Students interested in attending these visits should sign up in Naviance no later than 24 hours before the visit. 
Listen up bachata, merengue and cumbia dancer, if you would like to perform in our Global Society event on February 20th, come to an informational meeting today in room 356.
Global Society Fest is a celebration of cultures around the world. This year, the fashion show and dance performances will be held on Thursday, February 20th. If you are interested in representing your cultural heritage through fashion, food or dance, see Mrs. Yusuf in Room 259 during Spartan Plus or after school this week to pick up the field trip form.
Do you have a story to tell? The Media Center is looking for you to be a book in the human library. You will receive two service hours and will meet interesting people and hear interesting stories. Applications are due this Friday. Details are in your email by searching 'Human Library'. 
The Media Center & Gaming Club are excited to announce an upcoming movie field trip . . . to see Sonic the HedgehogTuesday, February 25.  $10 ticket includes movie ticket, bus, popcorn, drink, fruit snack.  Permission forms available in the Media Center.      
Student Council is having its annual Flower Day sale on February 13th.  600 bright, colorful, beautiful flowers will be on sale during common prep in the Media Center and during all lunch periods in the student cafe.  Flowers are $2 each or 4/$5.  Buy a bunch for your favorite people! 
Grad Nite tickets are on sale now! Online and in the main office. Check your email for all information and permission slips, or stop by the Media Center with any questions. 

Club/Team News

Alliance is hosting a regular meeting this Wednesday, February 5th. Alliance is an inclusive, student-led club that talks about important issues affecting teens. Please join us in room 108 after school!
Students Against Destructive Decisions has a meeting THIS Friday, February 7th. We will be working on advocating during Teen Safe Relationship Month. Come join us after school in room 108.
There will be a badminton open gym this Friday, February 7th from 5:30-7pm in gym 10.
