Stuff You Need to Know

SERVICE HOURS:
Need service hours?  There are several upcoming opportunities to check out:
  • PTSA is looking for volunteers this Wednesday 2/5 during Incoming Freshman Registration. Remember seniors, you must volunteer with the PTSA in order to be eligible for their $750 scholarship!
  • Hometown Elementary School PTA is seeking volunteers to help with kids activities during the PTA meeting this Thursday 2/6
  • Help set up the Beds Plus shelter at Pilgrim Faith Church
Information about these events and more can be found on the Service Learning calendar, accessible via the OLCHS website and/or in your Seminar iTunes U course.
 
HUMAN LIBRARY:
Do you have a story to tell? The Media Center is looking for you to be a book in the human library. You will receive two service hours and will meet interesting people and hear interesting stories. Applications are due this Friday. Details are in your email by searching 'Human Library'. 
 
MOVIE FIELD TRIP:
The Media Center & Gaming Club are excited to announce an upcoming movie field trip . . . to see Sonic the HedgehogTuesday, February 25.  $10 ticket includes movie ticket, bus, popcorn, drink, fruit snack.  Permission forms available in the Media Center.      
 
FLOWER DAY SALE:
Student Council is having its annual Flower Day sale on February 13.  600 bright, colorful, beautiful flowers will be on sale during common prep in the Media Center and during all lunch periods in the student cafe.  Flowers are $2 each or 4/$5.  Buy a bunch for your favorite people! 
   
SENIORS:
Grad Nite tickets are on sale now! Online and in the main office. Check your email for all information and permission slips, or stop by the Media Center with any questions. 

 

Club/Team News

ALLIANCE:
Alliance is hosting a regular meeting this Wednesday, February 5th. Alliance is an inclusive, student-led club that talks about important issues affecting teens. Please join us in room 108 after school!
 
SADD:
Students Against Destructive Decisions has a meeting THIS Friday, February 7th. We will be working on advocating during Teen Safe Relationship Month. Come join us after school in room 108.
               
BADMINTON:
There will be a badminton open gym this Friday, February 7th from 5:30-7pm in gym 10.
