Each day during Black History Month, the Black Student Union will share information on a topic or person. This week’s theme is Black Creators and Activists.

 

Zora Neale Hurston - She was an American author, anthropologist, and filmmaker. She was one of the leaders during the Harlem Renaissance trying to protect the rights of African Americans. She also has several famous novels she is known for such as “Their Eyes Were Watching God”. Senior Gear-The Senior Class Advisory Board (SCAB) would like to offer the opportunity to celebrate their senior status with senior gear: hoodies, sweats, t-shirts, a windbreaker, and this year, a mask.

Valentine's Day/Spring Poetry Contest- The OLCHS Spartan Creative Writing Club presents… A Valentine’s Day/Spring Poetry Contest!  Send us your original poetry related to Valentine’s Day/Love or the upcoming Spring season.  Entries are due by Monday, February 8, 2021.  The prize for “Best Poem” is a $10 Amazon Gift Card and a bag of Jolly Ranchers.  The winner will be announced February 12th.  Please check your student e-mail for our contest flyer with details and links to submit your poems.  One entry per person.
