Black History Month: Black Achievement
Each day during Black History Month, the Black Student Union will share information on a topic or person. This week’s theme is Black Achievement.
Benjamin Carson is an American politician, author, and a retired neurosurgeon. He is famous for being the first surgeon to separate conjoined twins joined at the back of the head. Another accomplishment from Carson is that he performed the first successful neurosurgical procedure on a fetus inside the womb; the separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins. A movie was made about his achievements called Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story. We now know him as the 17th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Senior Gear-The Senior Class Advisory Board (SCAB) would like to offer the opportunity to celebrate their senior status with senior gear: hoodies, sweats, t-shirts, a windbreaker, and this year, a mask.

Wednesday 2/10 -Career Day. Dress for your future career (or your dream job).
Thursday 2/11- Character Day. Dress as your favorite character from a movie, film, book or game.
Friday 2/12- Spartan Pride Day. Show your school SPIRIT and wear your class colors.
- Friday 3:00 – Apple Pencil Raffle Winner Chosen – tickets will be sold before/after school in the Spartan Lobby.
