We congratulate the Journalism Team on their top ten finish at the State Tournament Friday in Normal, IL. The entire team had outstanding performances at the event. The team was led by Yusra Abdelrahman, who placed 6th in Advertising and 4th in the state for Editorial Writing, Brendan Gallian, who placed 3rd in the state for Sports Writing, Sierra Knutsen, who placed 5th in Yearbook Caption Writing, and the dynamic duo of JM Claudio and Mia Reyes. Also, a special shot out to Seniors Adriana Hall, Sarah Lindsay, Yusra Abdelrahman, Isabelle Smykowski, Breanna Buttney, and Hailey Kainrath for their outstanding leadership. You will all be missed.
Congratulations to the Rocket League team for winning the first IHSA sectional championship on Saturday. They will compete this Saturday in Bloomington for the first IHSA State title. Good luck Marcos Nunez, Taleb Mreizig and Kalvin Vega!

Drivers Education: Any student who is 15 years old by May 15th is eligible for summer school drivers education. The department still has seats open. Please talk to your guidance counselor for more information if you are interested.
Fall Semester Drivers Ed students - TODAY Monday April 25th, please report to the PAC for permit testing during Spartan Plus. Please study for the rules of the road test before the April 25th. The study guide can be found at the Illinois Secretary of state’s website under the driver’s education tab.
The Spartan Survivor scholarship is open to any senior who has been affected by cancer. Recipients must plan to attend post-secondary schooling at either a 4-year college, community college, or career/trade school. Entries are due Thursday, April 28th. Prom - Attention Juniors and Seniors. Prom 2022 is coming soon. It will take place on Friday, May 6th from 7pm-11pm at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. This year's theme is, "Time of Our Lives". Tickets are $75 per person and CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED ONLINE. Ticket sales will run through Friday, April 29th, but don't wait until the last minute.

YH4L - We are pleased to bring the Young Hearts for Life (YH4L) Cardiac Screening Program to Oak Lawn Community High School on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Young Hearts for Life will provide this free heart screening called an electrocardiogram (ECG) to identify high school students at risk for sudden cardiac death and to increase the public's awareness of this issue. Scholarship Opportunity for all Senior Athletes:
The OLCHS Athletic Booster Club is excited to offer their annual Joe Pajac Scholarships. Each year, Boosters provides three (3) $1000 scholarships to senior athletes who will be continuing their education in college after graduation. Athletes must also have a family member that is a Booster Club member. It’s not too late for parents to join the Booster Club. Memberships are still available through the web store on www.olchs.org.
