Stuff You Need to Know


Following the Heroes Night Basketball game back in February between Reavis and Oak Lawn, a scholarship has been set up in the names of the two fallen police officers. One will be given out to a Reavis senior, and one to an Oak Lawn senior. The scholarship is for $1000 and we are now seeking applications. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, planning to pursue a career in law enforcement, and extra consideration will be given to student-athletes and/or students involved in extracurricular activities. If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, applications can be picked up in the Athletic Office. Completed applications are due by Friday, May 10th.


Permit packet pickup will begin next Tuesday April 30th and Wednesday May 1st from 8am-8:25am. Please come to the drivers ed room 281 with your student ID to pick up your materials. If you have any questions, please see a DE staff member.


This is the last week to purchase prom tickets!! You can purchase tickets online(Webstore- Prom) at or in office 126. No checks will be accepted from graduating seniors. The cost is $75 per ticket. No ticket will be sold after 3:00 PM on Friday April 26th. This year’s prom, Forever, will be held on Friday May 3rd, 2019 at the Odyssey in Tinley Park from 7:00PM – 11:00PM. See Ms. Horn(214) or Mrs. Strelow(207) with any questions.

The Pink Out game raised money for the Karen Janecek Scholarship. If you are a senior who's family has been affected by breast cancer, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. See the posters in the hallways or Mrs. Meyers in the Media Center for more information. The deadline to apply is May 3rd. 

Need service hours? There are quite a few opportunities this Saturday, 4/27!

  • Be a course monitor for the St. Germaine “Germazing Race” 5K
  • Help with kids activities at the Oak Lawn Earth Day event at Oak View Center
  • Serve food at the Westside Baseball concession stand
  • Prepare sandwiches for the homeless at St. Louis de Montfort Church
  • Provide childcare for those attending the Hometown Elementary PTA event
  • Help with kids activities at the Sertoma BIG Event at Bourbon Street (they feed you at this one!)

Club/Team News


Dance Team. The dance team is having try outs on April 29-30 from 6-8:30PM in the dance room. We are looking for people of any dance ability and anyone who wants to tryout can! We are really looking to expand our team and it’s a great team to join if you love dance and want to make new friends. If you can please notify the students about our tryouts leading up to them over the pa and on student emails as well that’ll be great! \



Summer Swim. We will once again be hosting Summer Swim Lessons are in need of instructors to help teach children in our community the basics of swimming and water safety. Anyone interested in earning community service hours, and helping to grow the sport of swimming, please attend a meeting in Room 365 at 8:10am or directly after school on Thursday, April 25th. If you cannot attend please reach out to Coach Reiff or Coach Maciaga.
