Spring Sports Tryout Information and Procedures
Oak Lawn Community High School Athletics is excited to begin the spring athletic season for the 2022-2023 school year! Please take note of the information below which includes tryout dates/times/locations and procedures for your specific sport.
It is extremely important that all athletes have a current physical on file with the athletic office and have registered online prior to the day of the tryout (see information below). Students that report to tryouts without registration or current physical on file will be sent home.
SPORT SPECIFIC TRYOUT INFORMATION:
Students should report to the following locations for check-in 15 minutes prior to the activity start time:
Girls Track & Field:
Already in session and still taking members. Contact head coach for practice details.
Location: After school - 2nd Floor outside Room 211 or outside on the track

Boys Track & Field:

Girls Badminton:
Varsity: 2/27 & 2/28 – 5:15pm-7:15pm, 3/1 – 4:30pm-6:00pm
JV (Sophomores): 2/27 & 2/28 – 5:15pm-7:15pm, 3/1 – 3:15pm-4:45pm
F/S (Freshman): 2/27 & 2/28 – 3:15pm-5:15pm, 3/1 – 3:15pm-4:45pm

Baseball:
Varsity: 2/27 – 3:00pm-5:00pm
JV (Sophomores): 2/27 – 5:00pm-7:00pm & 2/28 – 7:00pm-9:00pm
F/S (Freshman): 2/27 – 7:00pm-9:00pm & 2/28 – 5:00pm-7:00pm
Location: Depending on weather: SWH Baseball Field or Auditorium Gym

Softball:
Tryouts will consist of two days of player evaluations and rosters will be finalized on 2/29. Players will tryout based on positions they play, regardless of their grade level. Players should attend their position time slot. Players can attend multiple time slots.
Infield Positions: 2/27 from 3:30pm-4:45pm / 2/28 from 3:30pm-6:00pm
Outfield Positions: 2/27 from 4:30pm-5:30pm / 2/28 from 3:30pm-6:00pm
Pitchers & Catchers: 2/27 from 5:30pm-7:00pm / 2/28 from 3:30pm-6:00pm
Equipment Needed
- Bring all equipment needed to show your skills (gloves, bat, etc.)
- If you are a catcher and don’t have equipment, we will provide equipment.
- We will also provide bats and helmets if needed.
- Have clothing to be outside (long sleeves, pants, spikes, etc.)

Girls Soccer:
All Levels: Monday, Feb. 27th – Wednesday, Mar. 1st from 3:30pm-6:00pm
Location: Depending on weather: Napleton Field or Oak Lawn Pavilion (transportation will be provided)

All Levels: Monday, Feb. 27th – Wednesday, Mar. 1st from 3:30pm-5:30pm

Sophomores & Freshman: Tuesday, March 7th from 3:30pm-5:30pm

The following will also need to be completed prior to check-in for tryouts.
· Athletes must have a current physical on file with the athletic office (dated within the last 13 months). Upon check-in, students will be checked for a valid physical. If they do not have a valid physical on file, they will be sent home. Physical forms can be downloaded at this link or from https://il.8to18.com/OakLawnCommunityHS/ under the “Resources” section. Updated physical forms can be hand delivered to the athletic office, emailed to our athletic office staff, or turned in at check-in for tryouts.
· Athletes must have registered online for the sport. Registration is available on our athletic web site https://il.8to18.com/OakLawnCommunityHS/ under the “Registration” tab at the left side of the website, and also at https://oaklawncommunityhs.8to18.com/. Athletes will be checked for completed registration at check-in. If a parent has not registered the athlete prior to 12pm on the day of the tryout, they will be sent home.
Additional tryout information:
Athletes need to bring their own water bottle, shoes, towels, and other personal equipment.
