In a quest to repeat as South Suburban Conference Red champions, the Oak Lawn Community High School boys basketball team counts on a strong leader. Senior guard Ayham Salah is that leader for the Spartans. He currently leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game. He leads in three-point-field goals made, and he leads younger players to success on and off the court.

He has an excellent, effective field-goal percentage of 56-percent, which is third on the team and first among Oak Lawn’s guards. He also leads the team in both rebounding and steals with almost six boards a game and two steals per game.

“Ayham is spearheading a balanced attack for us,” head coach Jason Rhodes said. “He is an excellent rebounder for his size, and he is a pesky defender. Ayham is consistently energetic and talkative in practice, is a member of our captain’s council, has helped mentor some of our younger players this season, and continues to look for ways to improve.”
