She may be quiet and reserved when speaking with her in the classroom or after school, but her performance on the track for Oak Lawn Community High School truly causing a boom. Junior Aniya Seeley-Williams has climbed to become the Spartans top sprinter in girls track and field.
Last weekend at the Morton Invitational, Seeley-Williams put on a show. Individually, she took second place in the 55-meter dash and in the 200-meter dash. Then she went on to set the pace for the first-place relay team in the 4x160-meter relay.
“Aniya has been an absolute force in the sprints,” head coach Brian Fiene said. “She is a quiet leader, who has been such a solid presence on the team. Aniya is looking to improve and make some noise this year as the season has just begun. We look forward to her future success.”
