'Rookie' Sweis Makes Most of Tennis Practice

The amount of experience a player has is not always a predictor of success in a sport. Sometimes sheer determination, grit, and desire can prove to be valuable tools for success. For Oak Lawn Community High School boys tennis player Christian Sweis, this idea proves true. In his first year on the court, he has already excelled on the court despite lacking any true experience playing tennis.
“Christian is a natural leader who is willing to start the team with stretches and footwork,” head coach Adam Winchell said. “He seeks out ways to improve his game including practicing indoors when there is no practice."
“For someone with little tennis experience before this season, Christian is an aggressive member of this year’s team, and I’m confident he will do great things once competition begins.”
