Each week the Athletic Department selects a Spartan Athlete of the Week. The recipient for the week of January 22 is boys swimmer Alan Prymon.
Last week, Prymon stepped up in a huge way by leading the Spartans to a 2-1 record in dual meets and also with a Top-6 finish at the very competitive Evergreen Park Invitational. In addition, he claimed first place in five of his six individual events this week, including winning the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:31 at the EP Invite.
Not only did he succeed in individual races, he carried his teammates by dominating a relay leg immediately after winning the 500. Neither of those tasks were easy, but completing them back-to-back is a rare effort. All in all, Prymon demonstrated the leadership and success in the pool that all athletes need to display.
Other nominees for Spartan Athlete of the Week included Mia DiGrazia (Girls Bowling).
